––– OUR APPROACH
A personalized, root cause approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying factors contributing to illness. Rather than simply treating symptoms, it considers the whole person, nutrition, lifestyle, genetics, environment, and mental well being, to create individualized plans that support long term health and wellness.
Most patients arrive having already been told that everything looks fine. Standard panels came back within range and the conversation ended there. Functional medicine begins where that conversation stopped.
That is not a criticism of conventional medicine. Standard panels are designed to identify disease, and they do that well. What they are not designed to do is explain why someone without a diagnosable condition still feels exhausted, foggy, or unlike themselves. That gap is where this work lives.

These concerns can be connected. We look beyond each symptom to understand the bigger picture.
01
Fatigue that rest does not resolve
02
Ongoing weight struggles despite no change in habits
03
Headaches and persistent brain fog
04
Sleep that stopped working, particularly early morning waking
05
Long term mood support
06
Digestive concerns, bloating, and food sensitivities
07
Hormonal changes through midlife
08
Recurrent illness or slow recovery
We begin with your history, use testing where it adds insight, and build a plan that evolves with you.
Your first visit is a conversation, not a fifteen minute appointment. We review what changed, when it changed, what has already been ruled out, and what you have already tried. The pattern in that history usually matters more than any single result.
When standard lab panels have not provided clear answers, advanced testing is the next step. Panels are chosen based on your clinical presentation, health history, and the findings from your initial assessment.
That may include nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, hormonal support, and targeted therapies, informed by what your evaluation shows. Two people with the same symptom often need different plans.
Your plan is reviewed and refined over time rather than handed over once.
Functional medicine is a fit for three kinds of people
01
Been through the conventional pathway
Tests came back normal, the appointments ended, and nothing actually resolved.
02
Managing several connected concerns
Sleep, weight, mood, and digestion are rarely separate problems.
03
Want to understand, not just manage
Looking for the cause rather than another indefinite prescription.
It also suits people willing to participate. Nutrition, sleep, and stress are not optional extras in this model. They are part of the treatment.
Functional medicine is not a replacement for primary care. It is a complementary approach with more time, a wider lens, and a focus on underlying contributors rather than symptom management alone.
Recommendations are grounded in clinical evaluation, laboratory findings, and established medical knowledge. Where a specialty test has not been cleared by the FDA, that is stated plainly and results are interpreted within a broader clinical picture.
We do not bill insurance for consultations. Insurance covers most lab work, though not all. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, HSA, and FSA, and financing is available through Cherry.
Long enough to hear your full history and ask the questions that follow from it. Most patients find it considerably longer than they are used to.
This varies between individuals and depends on what is being addressed. We set expectations together at your first visit and review progress at follow up rather than leaving you to guess.
No. You can book directly.
Yes. The practice focuses on women navigating midlife, and we also evaluate and treat men, particularly for hormonal and metabolic concerns.
Specialty diagnostic testing is a clinician guided evaluation designed to offer additional clinical insight when standard testing has not fully addressed a patient's wellness concerns. It is not intended to independently diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any specific disease. Some specialty panels referenced on this page are specialized diagnostic tests and have not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Results should be interpreted within the context of a comprehensive clinical evaluation. This service is not a replacement for care or evaluation by your primary care provider or specialist.
